I've been behind the chair since 2005. For most of those years, I was also the one piecing together my salon's back end at eleven pm. A booking system that wouldn't talk to my notes. Client records on three different platforms. A new content tool every other month, and never enough time to actually use any of them.
Then I started teaching myself where salons actually show up, and where they quietly do not. On Google, on the map, and now in the answers people get when they ask an assistant for a salon near them. I worked it out on my own salon first. Then for the stylists I knew. Now it is what I do for salon owners full time.
I'm still doing hair. I'm just also doing this.
